ORIFOLD Creasing Together2022

Origami Oritai presents a virtual origami international event "ORIFOLD CreasingTogether-2022”, in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of Japan- India Friendly Relations and the event is supported by The Japan Foundation, India.This happens on the 11th and 12th of June 2022, through Zoom and Facebook live. Last year, the first-ever Oritai International event- Oritai Marathon-2021, virtual origami, was organised. Following its success, Origami Oritai organises this year’s event "ORIFOLD CreasingTogether-2022”. This is a two-day celebration with twelve renowned origami masters sharing their skills online. This event aims to spread love and peace through origami.



The Masters



Amandeep Kaur Lamba



India



Amandeep Kaur is the President of “Origami Oritai”, India. She has an experience of 13 years as an origami artist. She has Conducted various Origami workshops for general public as well as designers, students, delegates, corporates, architects etc. During the pandemic, She has taken virtual sessions in India and for various other countries like France, Indonesia, Bolivia, Columbia etc.



Wuri



Indonesia



Wuri Dyah Putranti is popularly known as Wuri. She is a vice president of Asosiasi Origami Indonesia. she lives in Depok, West Java, Indonesia. She is a teacher. She has a course named Klub Bintang and teaches mathematics. She uses origami paper as a teaching aid . she likes modular origami especially mandala & star,



Michel Kosmulski



Poland



Michał Kosmulski is an origami designer from Poland. He folds and designs tessellations and share them on his web page and social media. He also designed a number of elegant modulars and simple figurative models with a clean look. He experiments with different combining techniques in his designs. He has given many online and off line workshops at origami conventions, some commercial workshops and presentations.



Miyuki Kawamura



Japan



Linda Martina also known as Linda Lookman, is from Indonesia. She is the founder of the Indonesian origami club since 2007. She has been organizing and managing origami events in Indonesia. She has created simple and intermediate level designs of flowers, butterflies, masks etc., She collaborates with several origami experts while designing origami.



Indrani Pal



India



Indrani is a versatile artist and an origami enthusiast. She did her masters in Bengali literature. She joined Oritai in 2010 and rekindled her childhood passion for origami. She has more than 10 years of experience in teaching of origami. She incorporates the beauty and analysis of her literature background in her origami teaching sessions.



Darryl Bedford



England



Darryl Bedford is a teacher for deaf children and a Paper Engineer. The recent lockdown was a catalyst for developing his passion for origami and kirigami techniques. He participated in online talks, exhibited my paper craft internationally and showcased my unique drawstring origami technique on British television. He embellishes his kinetic sculptures with his decorative surface designs.



Mona Bhardwaj



India



Mona Bhardwaj has a designing background and expresses her creativity in various areas along with origami. She has been practicing Origami for the last five years and also teaching it online. She organises monthly Origami workshops to seniors in Delhi NCR and off and on to neighbourhood children also. She confesses that Origami is a stress buster and meditative for her.



Bobbie Vijayakkar



India



Bobbie Vijayakkar is an Architect and Interior Designer. He conducts origami workshops to workshops for students, Interior Designing Institutes, Corporates and industry professionals. Recently he taught origami to 50 Visually Impaired students along with their Arts teacher. With his love for origami and compassion towards the Senior and the special members of the society, he says origami is his meditation.



Dasa Severova



Switzerland



Dáša Ševerová is from Slovakia and lives in Switzerland. She worked as a math and biology teacher for gifted children. She creates geometrical models, stars, flowers, modular and tessellations and shares them on her instagram and flicker. She likes drawing diagrams for her origami models. She published her book "Origami Journey". She worked with other origami artists like David Gachepapier, Ilan Garibi and Ekaterina Lukasheva.



David Medina



Peru



Prof. David Medina Rosales is from Lima Peru, has15 years of experience in teaching of practcle Mathematics & origami. He is an active member of the Origami Peru Educational Association and coordinator at Colegio San Benito de Palermo in Ate – Lima – Peru. He organises origami virtual workshops in Peru, Guatemala, Panama, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Argentina, Colombia, USA and the Netherlands.



Gerardo G



Columbia



Gerardo Gacharná Ramírez has been dedicated to origami since 2010. He has created around 80 models of a wide variety of practical, figurative and conceptual origami. He had founded the Neorigami collaborative blog and co-founded the Mini Neo e-fanzine. He ran the Inter-forum Useful Model Challenge in 2012. He runs online origami groups- the United to Fold, Foldeas and the Diálogos Origámicos.



Sheetal Brahmecha



India



Sheetal Brahmecha is a Chartered Accountant. and an origami Enthusiast. She revisited her childhood passion by an accident when she visited an oritai annual exhibition. it ignited the fire in her to explore the path of folding papers creatively to create magic. She says she experiences calmness, excitment, jubilance while folding the paper. It's meditative.
